With its new research programme, the IRS is systematically opening itself up to collaborative research with stakeholders outside the academic world. Transdisciplinary and participatory research are intended to help solve complex societal problems and strengthen trust in science. more info

The research project “RichMap – Where the Rich Live” examines German villa districts throughout the 20th century. This year's IRS Spring Academy was dedicated to the analysis of value and authenticity in their various spatial dimensions: How do art markets work? Which architectural epochs are considered valuable in today's urban planning policy? At the end of June, a group of international early-career researchers gathered in Erkner and Potsdam to investigate these questions, exchange knowledge and build networks. more info
