Administration

IRS researchers are supported by an effective administration. Its key responsibilities include financial management and administration of third party funds, human resources management, procurement, corporate travel management, property management and IT infrastructure support. The head of administration supports the director regarding organisational and personnel development matters and administrates the work of the governing bodies of the institute.

A library is also part of the IRS. The library's holdings mainly reflect the key research areas of the IRS. In addition, the library maintains the holdings of IRS's predecessor, the Institute for Urban Planning and Architecture (ISA) of the Academy of Building of the GDR.
