Ondřej Ševeček is a researcher specializing in twentieth-century economic and social history. His research focuses on industrial cities and company towns, the formation of multinational corporations, and Fordism. He is director of the Philosophy Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic and research fellow in the Department for the Study of Modern Czech Philosophy. He is currently collaborating on the War of the Cobblers project, which explores the (spatial, social and economic) transformation of the footwear industry in the years of the First World War using the perspective of the history of products (Produktgeschichte).
