Alice Dornbusch
Alice Dornbusch joined the Leibniz Institute for Spatial Social Research as a research associate in the Research Area “Economy and Civil Society” in August 2026. Since May 2026, she is also working as an academic associate at the Chair for Socio-Spatial Transformation at the Brandenburg University of Technology. Besides her teaching activities, she is working on her doctoral research project on the role of governance structures and processes for shaping transformative innovation processes. Within this context, a comparative case study of several European countries will be undertaken using the example of circular construction.
Previously, Alice Dornbusch worked as a student research assistant in the research programme “Sustainable Inner Cities and Urban Centres” (ZIZ) at the Chair of Urban Management at the Brandenburg University of Technology, as well as a student assistant at a planning consultancy in Berlin.
Alice Dornbusch graduated with a B.Sc. in Urban Design and Urban Planning and a M.Sc. in Urban and Regional Planning from the Brandenburg University of Technology. In her Master’s thesis, she analysed the implementation of transformative innovations in spatial contexts characterised by non-ideal conditions, using circular construction as an example. Her research employed a case study approach focusing on the predominantly rural districts of Konstanz and Lippe.
Previously, Alice Dornbusch worked as a research assistant in the "Sustainable City Centres and Town Centres" (ZIZ) research programme at the Chair of Urban Management at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, as well as a student assistant at a planning consultancy in Berlin.
Alice Dornbusch studied Urban and Regional Planning at Master’s level and Urban Design and Urban Planning at Bachelor’s level at the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg. In her Master’s thesis, she examined the implementation of transformative innovations in areas with less than ideal conditions, using circular construction as an example, based on a case study in the predominantly rural districts of Konstanz and Lippe.
