Antonia Anni Nähring
Research Associate | Economy and Civil Society

Antonia Nähring has been working as a research associate in the "Economy and Civil Society" research area at the IRS since April 2025, where she is involved in the lead project "Post-Office". She previously studied Geography at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and Urban Design at HafenCity University Hamburg. In her master's thesis entitled ‘Urban Pores’, she explored the transformative potential of block thoroughfares with regard to the urgently needed traffic turnaround and climate-resilient remodelling measures.

Parallel to her studies, she worked as a student assistant at the TU Berlin in the department of "Labour Studies and Transdisciplinary Research Methods" in the research project "Experi - The Transport Transition as a Social-Ecological Real-World Experiment". In addition, she has already gained valuable practical experience and insights in the areas of knowledge transfer, citizen science and participation processes through her work in neighbourhood management at degewo.
