Marie Inés Gartlinger
Research Associate | Politics and Planning

Inés Gartlinger joined the IRS in January 2025 as a research associate in the new lead project of the Research Area “Politics and Planning” in the Research Group “Urban Sustainability Transformations.” As part of this project, she is working on her dissertation on the governance of the urban heat transition in the German EU Mission Cities.

She holds a B.A. in Architecture and studied Urban and Regional Planning in her Master’s at the Technische Universität Berlin. In her master’s thesis she analyzed Climate Governance Experiments and their different experimental logics in the solar energy transition in Berlin.  During her studies, she worked as a student assistant in different subprojects of the CRC 1265 “Re-Figuration of Spaces” at the TU Berlin, where she is now an associated member.
