Krzysztof Rogatka works as Assistant in the Department of Urban Studies and Regional Development at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń (Poland). He is also an urbanist in the Municipal Urban Office in Toruń. His research focuses on revitalization, urban planning, building activity and social participation in local and regional development. He cooperates with local administrative authorities regarding master plans and development plans. He also contributed to a number of consulting and research projects connected with revitalization (for example: co-researcher of the project “Revitalization of the historic City Park in Toruń“, participation in the project “The Future of Philadelphia Boulevard – turn on the public consultation”, co-researcher of the project “RESTART” – the revitalization of the Old Town in Toruń”). Moreover he cooperates with universities in Slovenia, Germany and Spain. Recently, he has published papers concerning the problems of the compact city and its social perception, revitalization in the context of the cohesion policy and the influence of Polish spatial regulations on development of commercial spaces in cities.
