Assistant Executive Board / Assistant Research Management and Communication

Silke Schulz joined the IRS in June 2020. She is the IRS Management Board's assistant as well as the Research Management and Communication department's team assistant.

Daniel Hadwiger joined IRS as a research assistant in the third-party funded research project “Urban Authenticity: Creating, contesting, and visualizing the built heritage in European cities since the 1970s” (UrbAuth) in June 2020. He is responsible for the subproject “Urban Authenticity in the Context of Urban Development and Migration in Marseille" (France). He is also project coordinator of the project “UrbAuth”. Within the framework of the project, he is also involved in works on the visual transmission of the built heritage in Berlin-Brandenburg.

Executive Assistant to the Director

Juliane Riese joined the IRS in May 2020 as Executive Assistant to the Director. Prior to this, she held positions at Østfold University College in Halden, Norway, and at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Juliane Riese studied economics and management at the Universities of Greifswald, Oxford and Bremen. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics and Social Sciences from the University of Bremen.

Research Associate

In April 2020 Paul Sprute started working as a research associate in the“Freigeist“ project „Conquering (with) Concrete: German Construction Companies as Global Players in Local Contexts“ funded by the Volkswagen Foundation. As part of this project, he writes his PhD thesis on the international construction projects of German companies with a particular focus on India and Sri Lanka. Paul Sprute graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from the Universität Bremen and holds a master’s degree in Global History from the Freie Universität Berlin and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
