Video-Channel

Sowohl als klassisch journalistisches Medium in der Tradition der Dokumentarfilme und Wissensmagazine im Fernsehen, als auch als Mittel und Weg des Austausches innerhalb der wissenschaftlichen Community sind Videos zu einem ergänzenden, aber einflussreichen Kommunikationskanal geworden. Das IRS ist über seinen youtube-Channel in diesem Feld aktiv und ergänzt seine Kommunikation mit Wort und Bild durch Kurz-Filme sowie um Mitschnitte von Vorträgen und Konferenzen. Der Channel wird stetig erweitert.

Lecture "Migration and Social Change: Global Migrations and Urban Membership Regimes (1800- 2010)" by Prof. Dr. Leo Lucassen (Leiden University and IISH Amsterdam), held on the IRS Workshop "Urbanisation | Migration | Regeneration in past and present" on September 1, 2017, in Berlin.

Dr. Thorsten Heimann is a senior researcher at IRS. He focuses on the communicative construction of cultural spaces, especially in connection with perceptions of climate change and aquatic phenomena. In his lecture he illustrates his relational concepts of cultural spaces, developed in hin PhD thesis.

Die IRS Spring Academy 2017

The IRS Spring Academy "Investigating Space(s): Current Theoretical and Methodological Approaches: Temporality and Procedurality" took place in May 2017 and provided a platform for academic debate and exchange for 26 early stage researchers. Together with renowned lecturers and contributors from the IRS and other institutions they discussed theoretical and methodological approaches to space-related research.

Lecture "Governing Hyper-diverse Cities" by Prof. Dr. Gideon Bolt (University of Utrecht), held on the IRS Workshop "Urbanisation | Migration | Regeneration in past and present" on September 1, 2017, in Berlin.

Der Kunstschmied und Metallgestalter Achim Kühn zeigt in einer Ausstellung am IRS seine Werke aus den Jahren 1967 bis 1990. Gezeigt werden Entwürfe, Modelle und Fotos, darunter auch von Werken, die nach 1990 abgebaut wurden.

Vortrag "Open Creative Labs in Deutschland" von Prof. Dr. Oliver Ibert auf der Konferenz "Partizipation durch Machen – Open Creative Labs als Zwischenorte für Innovationen" am 23. Juni 2017 in Berlin. Die Transferkonferenz bildete den Abschluss des BMBF-Forschungsprojektes "Open Creative Labs in Deutschland".

9th International Lecture on Society and Space, held on April 13, 2016, at the Leibniz Institute for Research on Society and Space. Yuri Kazepov is a professor of International Urban Sociology and Compared Welfare Systems at the University of Vienna (Austria).
