Aya Isabel Kleine
Associated Researcher | Politics and Planning

Aya Isabel Kleine is associated to the Research Area “Politics and Planning” of the IRS. In 2020, she worked as a research assistant in the "Regeneration of Cities" department, where she investigated and accompanied the process surrounding the Dragonerareal in Berlin-Kreuzberg in the BMBF project "Urban Co-Production of Participation and Common Good: Negotiation Processes between Civil Society Actors and Municipal Administrations".

Aya Isabel Kleine studied political science and sociology in Hamburg, Copenhagen (B.A.) and Berlin (M.A.). In her master's thesis, she analysed the factors of emergence and success, actor constellations and the co-production processes in two variants of citizen households - Berlin-Lichtenberg and Reykjavik.

In addition to her studies, she initially worked as a research assistant at the Centre for Social Research Halle e.V. and from 2017 as a research assistant on topics of social innovation, the spatial distribution of right-wing extremist attitudes and participation in East and West Germany.

Aya Isabel Kleine also works in various political education projects.
